Timothy M. Murphy graduated from Loyola Law School here in Los Angelas California in 1977. He later began working in the Los Angeles County Public Defenders Office. After 15 years with the Hollywood Public Defenders, Timothy Murphy was promoted to felony trials and was soon after promoted to deputy 4 - the highest level for a trial attorney. Murphy handles serious case including multiple death penalty cases, none of which are on death row. Murphy, quit the Los Angeles Country Public Defender's office and was appointed LA County Superior Court Commissioner. After handling an inventory of cases including mental health and family law, Murphy quit in February 2011 and worked on his own. Since then, Murphy has been handling mostly criminal and family law cases.
